A former Staff Sergeant in The Royal Corps of Signals, he deployed on various operations over his twenty-four years’ service, including commanding teams in both Bosnia and Afghanistan. He left the Army in 2015 after completing his final posting in Gosport managing and maintaining the Royal Corps of Signals Yacht club. This included teaching and qualifying novice sailors in the RYA cruising scheme. He was also responsible for organising and managing worldwide sailing expeditions for the Joint Services Adventurous Sail Training Centre, which took novice and new sailors worldwide including ocean crossings.
On completion of his colour service in 2015, Greg joined Clipper and skippered the Mission Performance yacht in the Clipper Round the World Race, leading a 57-strong team of amateur sailors in an 11-month lap of the planet. It was an amazing experience with some very unique and challenging situations and tasks.
Recently Greg has worked in the Super-yacht industry on various vessels, responsible for the management of multi-million-pound yachts and professional crews worldwide.
He now works in the renewables industry as a windfarm transfer vessel captain, transporting manning and equipment to offshore installations.
