Digital Marketing Apprentice
Relative to all of the other personalities at Mission Performance my life experiences and achievements are pretty brief. However, my aim is to change that. As someone who likes to push themselves beyond their comfort zone, whether that be in my work or my personal life, I am never happy standing still. I may not ever reach the moon or climb Everest (although never say never), I hope to one day have a catalogue of adventures to look back on that even Indiana Jones would be jealous of.
Currently, my main source of adventure comes from my new job role here at Mission Performance. As one of the newest members of the team, I have the perfect opportunity to learn and develop alongside an inspiring group of people. Whilst a lot of my effort goes towards completing my apprenticeship in digital marketing, you may also find me running a project or two along the way as I aim to stretch myself and get involved in all aspects of the business.
Prior to working at Mission Performance, I had worked in retail for 3 years whilst I was studying. This gave me the perfect opportunity to fine-tune my skills in smiling through any situation and laughing at everyone’s jokes (no matter how many times you’d already heard it). Maybe most importantly though, it taught me a lot about balance; studying was difficult enough with A-levels in English Language, Maths and Economics but I found it was just as important to take time to do things I really enjoyed.
On the weekend, you will most likely find me supporting my local football team, Southampton, at St Mary’s stadium (although working from our Portsmouth postcode, I tend not to shout about it too much). Now, this really has taught me a lot about perseverance and smiling through any situation no matter how frustrated you are. Although supporting a team like Southampton isn’t always easy, being able to watch them at Wembley made everything worthwhile.
Apart from Football, I also try and stay as active as possible which mostly consists of a lot of time in the gym. Although many people may find going to the gym a chore, to me it is the perfect way to really test myself as well as being the perfect opportunity to set goals and then track how far away I am from reaching them. But I haven’t always been an avid gym goer, ever since I can remember I have always had a book in my hand and I still haven’t got over my love for them. Currently, I am trying to work my way through The Song of Ice and Fire series (or Game of Thrones as most people know it) which although long, are great for fans of the tv series like me and I would definitely recommend.
Ultimately, I love to live by the quote “Life is like a box of chocolates, you never know what you are going to get” from one of my favourite films, Forest Gump. That way, nothing is ever a surprise and instead, it’s just another step in my journey (plus anything with chocolate is a win-win situation).
