Phil Smith is an ex Royal Air Force Officer. Phil’s final post in the RAF was as the Senior Instructor within the Royal Air Force Logistic Officer Training School. There he was responsible for the administration, development and delivery of an intense 17 week training course to prepare Logistic Officers’ for their first appointments. In 2004 Phil was responsible for delivering a strategic concept on how better to deploy the Royal Air Force on Operations to sceptical Command HQ Staff. The project was delivered on time, on budget and was later expanded to include all 3 of the armed services. He is a practitioner in Neuro-Linguistic Programming (NLP) techniques, the Myers Briggs Type Indicator (MBTI) and the Strength Deployment Inventory (SDI) to significantly assist in development of team dynamics and individual performance. He has a wealth of experience throughout the Royal Air Force ranging from logistics through to operational crewman on Hercules and Chinook aircraft in several theatres of action. Phil has years of experience coaching in operating theatres in human factors research projects. Phil has recently worked with Operating Theatre Teams at Great Ormond Street Hospital, Luton and Dunstable Hospital, Kings College Hospital and John Radcliffe Hospital and has been invited to be a keynote speaker at Annual Medical Conference Events. Phil is also a Civil Aviation Authority qualified Crew Resource Management Instructor and he delivers courses to airline crews from all over the world on their mandated Human Factors / Human Error training. |
